George Smotzer Jr.

George Smotzer Jr., age 67, of Firestone, Colorado and formerly of Greensboro Pa., died in the Denver, Colorado Veterans Administration Community Living Center (Hospice) on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2014.
He was born Sunday, September 19, 1948 in Crucible, Pennsylvania a son of Charles G. Smotzer and Cecelia (Vignavich) Bohan.
George was a decorated United States Marine Corps veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
He worked in Greene County coal mines for 34 years and after retirement, moved to Colorado to be near his grandchildren.
Deceased are his parents; and a daughter, Kelly Ann Smotzer.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Rose (Elnikar) Smotzer; one son, Craig Smotzer of Firestone, Colorado; two grandchildren: Shelby Smotzer and Layne Smotzer; two brothers: Richard Smotzer and his wife Barbara and their son Richie of La Mesa, California and Donald Smotzer of Evergreen, Colorado; and a sister, Bonnie Findo and her husband John and their daughter Jennifer of Pursglove, West Virginia.
There will be no visitation and interment of his cremains will be at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa. Semper Fi!
