Martha F. (Bradstock) Parks, age 90, of Mesa, Arizona and formerly of Hopwood, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in East Mesa, Arizona.
She was born Monday, February 18, 1924 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania the daughter of Benjamin Bradstock and Bessie Melissa Stone Bradstock.
Martha was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Uniontown, Pennsylvania
She was employed for many years with the John W. Galbreath Company as a Secretary.
She also worked for Republic Steel, where she retired.
She loved to plant flowers in the spring and summer.
She enjoyed feeding the deer and also the humming birds in her back yard in Hopwood.
Martha was very compassionate towards animals. Throughout her life, she rescued many stray cats and dogs who became family members.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, William ‘Bill’ Parks; her daughter, Donna Ruth Atkins Towary; and the following siblings: Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Fike, Mr. Russell ‘Bud’ Bradstock, Mrs. Sid (Doris) Sempsey, Mr. Ray Bradstock, Mrs. Kenneth (Verna) Spindler, and an infant sister, Melissa Bradstock
She is survived by a granddaughter, Alice Edwards, and a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Sontheimer, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister-in-law, Mrs. Russell (Lorraine) Bradstock of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and loving nephews and nieces: Mr. Jack Bradstock, Mrs. Jill Bradstock Jones, Mr. James Bradstock, Mrs. Tammy Zack, and Ms. Marla Bradstock. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Betty Boop.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted friends in Mesa.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., today, Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The hour of the Service will be officiated at 4:00 p.m. by the Reverend Donald Kephart of Asbury United Methodist Church
Private entombment will be at the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Uniontown, Pennsylvania
