Gasper J. “Gus” Impiccini, age 84, of Fredericktown, Pa., died Monday, October 6, 2014 in Golden Living Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa.

He was born on Tuesday, February 11, 1930 in Vestaburg, Pa., a son of Joseph Impiccini and Lena (Roncadori) Impiccini.

Mr. Impiccini was a graduate of Centerville High School.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. For his service he was awarded the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal with six Bronze Service Stars, the United National Service Medal, and the Army Occupation Medal (Japan).

With over 35 years of service, he worked at West Penn Power’s Jefferson Sub Station.

He also owned and co-owned several area bars and restaurants.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Carmichaels, Pa., the 40 & 8 Club of Washington County, Pa., the F. & A.M. Lodge No. 237 in Beallsville, Pa., and The Sons of Italy Frank Ricco Lodge No. 731 in Brownsville, Pa.

He was a 60 year member of the American Legion Post No. 391 where he was a Life Member and Commander for multiple years, was the Commander for the 25th District for two years, the State Vice Commander for one year, and sat on various other committees on District, State and National levels.

He was also East Beth Township Commissioner for 14 years.

‘Gus’ loved collecting and restoring antique automobiles.

He enjoyed community service and was instrumental in the Community Christmas Drive.

Surviving are a son, Gasper Steven Impiccini (Deborah) of Kent, Ohio; daughter, Susan Pappas (Keith) of Morgantown, West Virginia; four grandchildren: Elle Pappas, Gasper Joseph Impiccini, Patrick Bradley Impiccini and Rachel Marie Adams; six great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Kimtantas of Clarksville, Pa.; a brother, Roman Impiccini of Washington, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Deceased in addition to his parents are a son, Patrick E. Impiccini; four brothers, Joseph Impiccini, Quinto Impiccini, Jim Impiccini and Mario Impiccini; and two sisters, Dolores Miller and Rose Marie Chambers.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, PA 15333 where Services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 12 Noon with Pastor John Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.

Full Military Rites will be accorded graveside by Hanson-Cole American Legion Post No. 391.

Masonic Services will be held in Funeral Home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
