Feud allegedly leads to gunfire
Police accused a Brownsville man with aggravated assault after he allegedly fired shots at a vehicle Oct. 10 in Uniontown.
Police said that incident was sparked by feud between David Ross and his ex-girlfriend, Destiny Hart.
According to the criminal complaint, events began when Hart along with her passengers — Andrew McCarley and Tylar Greenough — were traveling through Uniontown.
Police said Hart and her companions wanted to scare Ross so that he would leave her alone. Hart said when she lost contact with Ross, she started following Ross’s friend, Brendan Lee, the complaint said.
Police said that Ross indicated Lee contacted him to say he was being followed by Hart’s vehicle.
Soon after Lee’s vehicle cut off Hart’s vehicle in traffic, Lee was confronted by McCarley at a stop sign, the complaint said.
When McCarley allegedly started kicking Lee’s car, Lee sped away, police said.
Moments later, Hart and Ross, along with their companions, arrived around 8 p.m. at the Sunoco station on Connellsville Street, the complaint said. Ross was with Lee and Dylan Thompson, police said.
Police allege that the parties exchanged words about the incident involving McCarley kicking Lee’s car.
Police said that Ross, Lee and Thompson rushed at Hart’s car, Ross punched Greenough in the face through the vehicle’s window, the complaint said.
Ross reportedly told police that he saw McCarley reaching around within Hart’s vehicle as it was pulling away onto Connellsville Street, police said.
Then, police said, McCarley jumped out of Hart’s vehicle and fired a .38-caliber handgun in the air, and then fired four to five shots at Ross and his companions.
According to court documents, McCarley was charged with six counts of aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm without a license. Greenough, 18, of Brownsville was charged with possession of a firearm without a license, according to court documents.
McCarley was arraigned Monday by Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros, who set bond at $50,000. McCarley remains in Fayette County Prison.
Greenough was arraigned Monday by Metros, who set bond at $35,000. He remains in Fayette County Prison.
McCarley and Greenough’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 28 before Metros.
