Paul B. Blycheck (Blazicek), age 96, of Latrobe, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the St. Anne’s Nursing Home in Greensburg, Pa.

He was born Saturday December 29, 1917 in Dearth, Fayette County, Pa., son of Paul Blazicek and Elizabeth (Hriska) Blazicek.

Paul was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown where he served as an Usher for many years.

He recently attended Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Latrobe, Pa.

Paul worked most of his life as a Painter in the construction industry.

He served in United States Army during World War II.

He was also a member of the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 in Uniontown, Pa., the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa., and The Slovak Club, and was an active member of The Knights of Columbus in Uniontown, Pa.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Pauline Janos, Mary Bradshaw, Sister Sylvia Blazicek, and Ann Zahuranic; and by a step-grandchild, Randy Mitchell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth Blycheck of Confluence, Pa.; son, Paul Blycheck and wife Chrissy of Latrobe, Pa.; four granddaughters: Abigail Blycheck, Grace Blycheck, Mary Blycheck, Lucy Blycheck step-daughters: Nancy Mitchell and husband Robert of Confluence, Pa., Sally McClintok of Somerset, Pa., Barbara Shipley and husband Ron of Confluence, Pa.; five step-grandchildren: Brooke Fichtner, Jena Brenneman, David Mitchell, Rebecca Mitchell, Bria Shipley; and a step-great grand child, Logan Mitchell.

Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown PA 15401 today, Wednesday, October 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, October 23, 2014 until 12:15 p.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa., where Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by North Union Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8543.

The Parish Wake Service will be held in Funeral Home Chapel today, October 22, at 3:30 p.m.

The Knights of Columbus will have a Service at Funeral Home this evening at 7:00 p.m.
