Fayette County Coroner’s Office said that a 71-year-old man died of asphyxiation due to inhalation of smoke and fumes in a Saturday morning mobile home fire in Georges Township.

The coroner’s office said Roger Lee Kennedy was pronounced dead at the Morgantown Road home at 4:20 a.m.

Toxicology results are also pending.

State police said Fayette 911 received a call for a structure fire at 2:43 a.m., and that the mobile home was fully involved when fire personnel arrived. Kennedy was located by firefighters. The fire marshal was called to the scene.

Trooper James Garlick said the case remains under investigation.
