Robbery charges dismissed against Republic man

By Miles Layton jmlayton@heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

Robbery charges against a Republic man accused of stealing prescription drugs were dismissed Monday because a witness did not attend the preliminary hearing.

Police allege that Aaron M. Dillinger, 27, attacked Rodney Miske of Republic on Aug. 13 at a residence on Filbert/Orient Road in Redstone Township.

Miske alleges that Dillinger punched and kicked him several times before reaching into Miske’s pocket and taking his prescription medication, according to the criminal complaint.

Police allege that Dillinger took more than 50 Opana pills that were inside Miske’s pocket before leaving the scene. Miske reported the incident to authorities, the complaint said.

Dillinger was charged with robbery, simple assault and harassment, according to court documents.

He was arraigned Aug. 23 by Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis, who set bond at $25,000. Dillinger was taken to Fayette County Prison.

Dillinger’s case was dismissed during his preliminary hearing Monday before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino because Miske did not attend the hearing. Dillinger was released from prison following the hearing.
