Betty (Kollar) Miller, age 89, of Cary, North Carolina died Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014.

Born on Tuesday, February 24th, 1925 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Michael Kollar and Mary (Bill) Kollar.

While in Charlotte, Betty was very involved with volunteer work at the Bethlehem Center where she and husband Joe helped students with literacy skills.

Betty retired from Eastern Airlines in the mid 1980’s. At that time, she and Joe began their early retirement years traveling to many places before they settled back down in Charlotte.

She was passionate about her early years, her home town relatives and friends and traveled back to Pennsylvania to spend the summers until she was no longer able to drive the long trip.

Betty cared for her husband Joseph for many years before her health took a decline and was no longer able to care for herself.

As her health declined, Betty was loved and cared for and developed very close bonds with the people caring for her: Ms. Jessy Dixon (great granddaughter), Mrs. Tracey Dixon (grand daughter), Mrs. Janet Lively, Ms. Shante Lynch, and Ms. Karli Miles.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her grandson, Nathan Miller; her brother, Emory Kollar; and her sisters, Veronica ‘Toots’ Kollar and Theresa ‘Tess’ Kollar Sangston.
