Anna Lucille Sines Fleming

Anna Lucille Sines Fleming, 95 of Smithfield, joined the Lord to tend His garden on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

She was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania on August 4, 1919, daughter of Thomas and Dessie (Metheny) Sines.

Anna was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

When she was young, she worked in the tobacco fields and during World War II, she worked making artillery shells.

Later she was employed at the Houze Glass Factory, t h e Berkowitz shirt factory and Lakeview Resort.

Anna was an avid gardener with a bountiful fruit orchard and many beautiful water gardens.

She enjoyed raising ducks, chickens and rabbits as well as making crafts, quilts and clothing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Householder Fleming, daughter Anne ‘Marlene’ Groover, granddaughter Sherry Anne Groover and siblings: Edna, Dorsey, Edgar, Norman, Thomas, Jesse, Prentiss, Boyd, Elsie and Freda.

She is survived by a son – in – law Richard Groover; two grand-daughters, Laurie Sine and husband Robert, Becky Abraham and husband James; two grandsons, Richard Groover, Jr. and Benjamin Groover and wife Lori; eight great grand-children: Eric, Sharon, Dylan, Anne, Benjamin, Caleb, Abby and Sarah.

Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, T h o m a s B. Rudolph Funeral Director & Supervisor, 15 Main St., Point Marion, PA 724.725.5256 on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. when a Memorial service will be held with Pastor Joe Eicholtz officiating.

Interment will follow in the Little Arlington Section of Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
