Irene V. (Malys) Lesko

Irene V. (Malys) Lesko, age 88 of Jacobs Creek, Pa. died Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.
She was born in Lock 4, Washington County, Pa., on Saturday, December 25th, 1926 a daughter of John Malys and Mary (Bajno) Malys.
She was a member of Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Jacobs Creek.
Irene was President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 873 in Jacobs Creek.
She worked at the former Twin Coaches in Belle Vernon, Pa., and retired from Ottino’s Bar in Smithton, Pa.
Irene was the last surviving member of the Malys family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Lesko Sr.; a son, Charles Lesko Jr.; son-in-law, Frank King; brothers, John Malys, Ed Malys, and George Malys; and a sister, Fran Malys Stasko
She is survived by two daughters: Charlene King and Sandy Lesko of Jacobs Creek; two sons: Frank Lesko of Jacobs Creek and Jim Lesko (Adena), Fredericktown, Pa.; her two grandsons: Frank King of Banning, Pa., and Jeff King (Niki) of North Carolina; two great grandsons: Tyler and Nathan; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Buster.
Family and Friends will be received at the L. L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 227 Second Street, Smithton, PA 15479 (724.872.5924) today, April 7, from 2 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday April 8, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Jacobs Creek, with Very Rev. Dr. Edward Pehanich as the Celebrant.
Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Panahida Service will be held at Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
