Eileen Rae Wood, 26 of Greensburg, sweet and precious little daughter of Marcia J. (Mathianas) and Dan Wood, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

The Lord allowed her friends and family to enjoy her love for 26 years before welcoming her into His Kingdom.

Ellen is a 2010 graduate of the Westmoreland IU Clairview School, where she won the best costume award at the spring beach party.

Following graduation, Eileen attended the ARC of Westmoreland Adult Training Facility. Eileen loved to play musical instruments, visit Idlewild and Soak Zone and attend plays and musicals. She enjoyed swimming at the Aerobic Center, mall walking and sipping fancy frozen coffee drinks.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her Mommy, Daddy and family members.

Her smile could light up any room!

Eileen regularly attended worship services at the First Baptist Church of Greensburg and our Lady of Grace.

She was fortunate to have been able to travel to 19 states and Canada, but her favorite place was with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents: Joanne Mathianas and Ron and Jean Wood Havner.

She was predeceased by grandfathers, Ken Mathianas and Bob Wood

Her parents regret not being able to adequately thank individually, but are very grateful for all of the health care professionals who worked so hard to keep her healthy; her teachers, aides and drivers; her friends from church, mall, pool, Idlewild, performing arts and farmers’ market; and her terrific grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Above all, they are thankful to the Lord for the promise of being reunited with her one day.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg, Pa.

Additional viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday, the time of a funeral service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery.
