Michael Watson
Michael Linn ‘Mike’ Watson, 66, a longtime resident of Point Marion, Pa., passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
Born in Morgantown on April 23, 1948, he was a son of Evelyn ‘Gram’ Watson of Point Marion, and the late Harold L. Watson.
A 1967 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, he had worked as a coal miner at Duquesne Light’s Warwick Mine, and at various other jobs.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1932, and a social member of the American Legion, Post 499 and the V.F.W. Post 747, all in Point Marion. Mike was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In addition to his mother, surviving are two sons, Jim Watson and wife Leanna of Hundred, W.Va., and Danny Watson of Morgantown; three grandsons: Bryndin, Brody and Jaden, and a granddaughter, Delaney.
Also surviving is a brother, Pete Watson and his wife Diane of Point Marion, and two nephews, Grant Watson and wife Regina and their son Gabriel of Morgantown, and Keith Watson of Point Marion.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m, and Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Linda Roberts officiating.
Private interment will take place in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
F.O.E. No.1932 will hold services Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
