Police have not identified a man that was found dead Friday afternoon after his vehicle had struck a barn gate on property along Eighty Acres Road in Dunbar Township.

First responders at the scene speculated that the 68-year-old man had suffered a medical condition which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

State police, who is overseeing the investigation, did not have any updated information when contacted on Saturday.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene by Fayette County Deputy Coroner Ross Rock.

In addition to state police and the coroner’s office, also responding to the 3:12 p.m. accident was Fayette EMS, UPMC Medic, and Monarch and Dunbar fire department personnel.
