Gerald Thomas “G.T.” “Gerry” McClain

Gerald Thomas ‘G. T.’ ‘Gerry’ McClain, age 67 years, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly Friday, April 24, 2015 in Dunbar Township, Pa.
He was born Tuesday, December 30, 1947 at Mount Independence, Pa., and was raised in the Dunbar Township area by his sister and brother-in-law, the now late Henry Hatfield and Mary Ellen (McClain) Hatfield.
He was the son of Scott McClain.
Gerry graduated from North Union High School, Class of 1965.
He was a Welder and also a Crane Operator for Hillman Barge of Brownsville, Pa., having built the barges that GT Jr. now works on and pushes down the river.
He attended the Grace Brethren Church in Uniontown, Pa.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed his membership in Pool Leagues with many of his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Wilson) McClain; one son, Gerald T. ‘G.T.’ McClain Jr. and wife Rachelle, Charleroi, Pa.; one daughter, Terri McClain Gunnoe of Uniontown, Pa.; two grandchildren: Dillon McClain, Marin McClain; a sister, Alta McWilliams and husband Kenny of Dunbar, Pa.; nieces and nephews with whom he grew up: Betty Darnell and her husband Larry, Henrietta Rerko and her husband Bill, Lizzy Hanan and her husband Jimmy, and Henry ‘Hank’ Hatfield.
The family will receive friends at the GRACE BRETHREN CHURCH, Grace Lane, Uniontown, on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 2 until 3 p.m. where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. with Reverend Charles Prevot officiating and under the direction of the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME of Smithfield, Pa.
Interment will be private at Sylvan Heights Cemetery
