Heroin worth $51,000 seized in traffic stop

A routine traffic stop in Redstone Township earlier this month turned into one of the largest heroin seizures in Fayette County.

According to District Attorney Jack R. Heneks Jr., 108 bricks of heroin were found April 4 during a routine traffic stop for an expired registration. Both the driver, Dustin Spohn,35, of Fairbank, and his passenger, Crystal Hall, 35, of Republic, were charged with possession and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. The confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of $51,000 according to Heneks. An additional $12,900 in cash was also seized.
