No serious injuries reported in Connellsville Township crash

No serious injuries were reported following a rollover accident on Route 119 in Connellsville Township on Saturday.
Lt. Jon Gilpin of the Connellsville Township Volunteer Fire Department said an SUV traveling south on Route 119 and attempting to turn onto Crawford Avenue struck a Hummer traveling north at around 4:15 p.m., and the Hummer subsequently rolled over onto its side.
Traffic in the northbound was re-routed for almost an hour as crews worked to extricate the occupants of the Hummer and clear the scene.
The driver of the SUV was a 61-year-old woman, who sustained minor injuries. Gilpin said she was wearing a seatbelt, never lost consciousness, and appeared to be stable when an ambulance transported her from the scene.
The driver of the Hummer, a 47-year-old male, who was not wearing a seatbelt, complained of some pain in his back but appeared to have no serious injuries, Gilpin said. The driver was transported to Highlands Hospital by ambulance. The female passenger of that vehicle refused treatment, Gilpin said.
The names of the occupants were not yet available at press time.
According to Fayette County 911, the Connellsville Township VFD was assisted at the scene by New Haven Hose Company, state police and Fayette EMS.
