Two charged with robbing Greene County grocery store

1 min read

Two people were arrested on Friday and charged with robbing Rush’s Grocery in Greene County last month.

State police said Curtis M. Vanbuskirk, 26, of Holbrook and Michelle L. Cain, 26, of Cameron, West Virginia, were both charged with robbery, terroristic threats, theft and conspiracy to commit each.

Police said Vanbuskirk came into the Rogersville store around 10 p.m. July 27, handed a clerk demanding money and threatened to shoot the clerk.

A struggle between the two ensued before Vanbuskirk fled the store, police said. He allegedly got into a truck that Cain was driving to flee, police said.

Magisterial District Judge Glenn Bates issued warrants for the pair on Friday, but they failed to turn themselves in to be arraigned. Police said the two were taken into custody in Waynesburg following a traffic stop.

Bates set bail for both at $30,000 straight cash. Both are lodged in Greene County Prison and will face a preliminary hearing at a later date.
