Elaine “Chi Chi” (Capriotti) Rosnack
Rosnack’Chi Chi’
FAIRBANK
While surrounded by her loving family, God commanded a special Angel to gently take the hand of Elaine ‘Chi Chi’ (Capriotti) Rosnack, age 76, to bring her back to Him and her heavenly home on Friday, August 7, 2015.
She was born at home on Tuesday, November 1, 1938 in Fairbank, Pa., daughter of the now late Sophia (Scerba) Capriotti and Denny Capriotti of Fairbank, Pa.
Also preceding her in her death was her step mother Ethna (Sieradzki) Capriotti of Fairbank, Pa.
Chi Chi is survived by the loves of her life: husband, Kenneth J. Rosnack Sr.; son, Kenneth J. Rosnack Jr. (Darla) of Moon Township, Pa.; daughter, Debbie Kovach Lane (Jimmie Lane) of Greensboro, Pa.; and brother, Denny Capriotti (Michelle) of Virginia. She is also survived by her ex-son-in-law, Dave Kovach, Greensboro, Pa.
Grandma Chi Chi, as she was fondly known by her family, treasured her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored, especially looking forward to all their hugs and kisses: Sara Bromley (Jason), Victoria Martin (John), Jacob Rosnack, Ryan Kovach, and Marisa Lane. Also, she loved and adored her great-grandsons, Cole Bromley, Jase Bromley, great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Bromley, and Lily Jo Sandra Lane.
Chi Chi is also survived by her stepsister, Lori Mangold (Terry) and family; stepbrothers: Jerry Sieradzki (Kathy) and family, and Raymond Sieradzki (Bea) and family.
She was very grateful to her cousins and friends who always kept in touch. (You are extra special and your phone calls, visits, and cards meant so much to her.) Chi Chi is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Chi Chi also leaves behind brothers-in-law and their families: Chuck Rosnack, Bob and Joan Rosnack, Richard and Becky Rosnack; her former boss and friend, Father James Popochock who was also like family; along with many other special dear friends and email buddies who she considered her extended family. They filled her life and heart with the warmth of their friendship. You could be a millionaire, but it is ‘family’ who brings you happiness!
Chi Chi attended the Filbert Grade School, and graduated from Redstone High School, Republic, Pa., with the class of 1956. She enjoyed getting together with classmates over the years to help plan their class reunions.
After graduation, she worked as a Secretary in the Supervising Principal’s office at Redstone High School, and within a few years went on to work as a Secretary in the office of Superintendent of Schools at the Uniontown Courthouse.
On Saturday, August 6, 1960, Chi Chi married the love of her life, Kenny, at Saint Mary’s Church on the Hill in Cardale, Pa. She put aside her career to become a stay-at-home mom to raise a family, a son and daughter, a decision she never regretted. She achieved her goal of being a faithful and devoted wife and mother. Her family and faith were most important to her.
Chi Chi was a member of the former Church of Madonna, Cardale, Pa., where she volunteered many hours of her time.
She resumed her secretarial career around 1975 as a Parish Church Secretary for Saint Procopius Church in New Salem, Pa., and also took on the secretarial work for Saint Thomas Church, Footedale, Pa., when it became a partner parish with Saint Procopius. She then retired in 2007.
She was a current member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the Partner Parish Health Care Ministry. For many years she helped to coordinate and sell daffodils on Daffodil Sunday of Hope to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed helping people and that brought her so much happiness.
Although she was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi, Elaine requested that her dear friend whom she considered family Father James L. Popochock, celebrate her Funeral Mass at Saint Joan of Arc Church in the Mountains, where she and Ken were always made to feel welcome by the wonderful parishioners. Ken and Chi Chi celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2010 at Saint Joan of Arc with Father Jim renewing their vows.
She was also grateful to Father Peter L. Peretti and the parishioners of Saint Procopius and Sant Thomas for their many acts of kindness to her throughout the years as their secretary.
Chi Chi and her family are grateful to those who helped to care for her, including Amedisys Hospice Care, especially Amanda and Krissey.
