Ruth Elizabeth (Wyke) Romesburg of Etters, Pennsylvania and former resident of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at home.

Ruth was born on Sunday, March 15, 1925 in Candor, Washington County, Pennsylvania a daughter of Lee Wyke and Grace Smyers Wyke

Ruth was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, Uniontown, an Associate Member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, Etters, United Methodist Women, Women of Light and she attended Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland, Pa.

Ruth was a member of Chapter No. 263 Order of The Eastern Star in Uniontown, Pennsylvania

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Romesburg; sister, Janet Corwin; three brothers, Alexander Wyke, Dr. William Wyke and John Wyke; and a nephew, Alexander Lee Wyke.

Left to cherish Ruth’s memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Richard Bittner with whom she resided; two granddaughters: Dr. Jennifer Bittner and Jamie Bittner; nieces: Ruth Conahan, Janet Gasho, Sandy Dodgson, Linda Connelly (Neal), Joy Sawhill (John), Jill Yosso, Linda Wyke; seven nephews: William (Margie) Wyke, Donald Wyke, Jack (Rose) Wyke, Craig Wyke Richard (Patty) Corwin, Robert Corwin, and James Romesburg; and extended family who loved her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA 15401 where family and friends may call today Thursday, August 13, from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue in the Funeral Home on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by a Service celebrating Ruth’s life at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. G. Stanford Bratton officiating.

Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.

A Memorial Service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held SATURDAY, August 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 415 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070 with the Rev. Arun Andrews and the Rev. Carl Ford Peterson officiating.

Uniontown Chapter No. 263 Order of The Eastern Star will conduct a Service in the Funeral Home today Thursday, August 13th, at 7:00 p.m.

Contributions in memory of Ruth can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Drive, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
