Katherine J. ‘Kay’ (Petros) Stockton, age 84, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away suddenly Thursday, August 13, 2015 at home.

She was born on Saturday, November 15, 1930 in Uniontown, Pa., a beloved daughter of Michael James Petros and Mary (Holup) Petros

Kay was employed with Ptak’s Tailor Shop in Uniontown, Pa., for many years.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 51 Auxiliary, an avid bingo player, and enjoyed working on crossword and word search puzzles.

She devoted her life to her family, and was a great cook —- famous for her haluski, cabbage rolls, and awesome potato salad!

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer L. Stockton in 1991; son, Patrick James Stockton in 1988; two infant sons, Jeffrey Allen Stockton and Terry Lee Stockton; a brother, George Petros; and three sisters, Helen Lilley, Jean Petros, and Stella McCann.

Left to cherish her memory are her children ‘Pete’ Stockton Jr. and wife Mary of Lemont Furnace, Pa., Cheryl Bartok and husband Gerard of Hopwood, Pa., Darlene Stockton and fiancé Scott Ferguson, both of Uniontown, Pa., Marlene Stockton with whom she made her home, and Pamela Mihok of Hopwood, Pa., who she considered her adopted daughter; her grand children: John Stockton, Jennifer Stockton and her fiancé Josh Lynch, Jason Stockton, April Serock and her husband Gary, Rhonda Gottlieb, and Savannah, Christopher Sampson and his wife Kelly, Jarrod Bartok and his fiancée Jennie Smith, Chad Bartok, Patrick Pratt; Michael Stockton; numerous great-grand children; a sister, Sophie Dutton of Uniontown, Pa; a brother, James Petros and his wife Nancy of Mississippi; special nephews and nieces: Paul Evans and his wife Trudy, Jim Lilley and his wife Linda, Judy Rusnock and husband Frank, Debbie Williams and husband Rick; her best friend and neighbor, Jeanne Wallace; and many other extended family members and dear friends. She also leaves behind ‘furbabies’ Max and Harley.

Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., today Sunday, August 16, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Uniontown, Pa.
