Smithfield woman charged in Rubles Mill stabbing death

State police have arrested and charged a 45-year-old Smithfield woman in the stabbing death of her boyfriend.
Lori Ann Tressler faces a single count of criminal homicide in the Saturday morning death of Robert Lee Engle, 29, of Smithfield. Police said Tressler stabbed Engle at 118 Ondrejko Road home in Rubles Mill, Georges Township.
Police were called to the home near Smithfield around 4 a.m. Saturday after 911 received a call about a disturbance.
A nearby neighbor, Josh Bittinger, who placed the call to 911, said he was awakened by someone banging on his door, asking for help. When paramedics arrived, they found Engle deceased on the porch, Bittinger said.
Police said Engle died of a stab wound to the chest.
This is the second time Tressler was charged with stabbing Engle. In 2009, police alleged Tressler stabbed Engle in the chest, shoulder and arm during a drunken argument. While she was charged with aggravated assault and other counts, those charges were withdrawn several months later.
