Charges are pending for a New Salem woman who allegedly attacked another woman with a metal grilling fork on Friday evening.

State police said a 74-year-old woman allegedly received an anonymous letter stating that her boyfriend was dating another woman who lived down the road from her in Menallen Township.

The 74-year-old allegedly grabbed a large, metal, twin-pronged grilling fork and confronted a 40-year-old New Salem woman, who was allegedly with her boyfriend on First Street in Buffington.

The 40-year-old sustained several cuts to both forearms, but didn’t require medical attention. Police said they placed the 74-year-old woman in custody and are looking into simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment charges.
