Pat Alexander
Pat Alexander, age 92, of Masontown, Pa., died at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Uniontown, Pa.
He was born on Tuesday October 9, 1923 in Cokeburg, Pa., a son of Pasquale Diomira (Vizioli) and Gesilia ‘Jessie’ (Valente) Alessandrini.
Mr. Alexander attended the Ellsworth, Pennsylvania schools.
He resided in Masontown all of his married life.
He served with the United States Army in European Theatre during World War II as a Squad Leader.
Mr. Alexander owned and operated Pat’s Motor Parts and also P & B Wholesale Supply in Masontown, Pa., for over 40 years until his retirement in 1998.
He was a Charter Member, past Commander and Finance Officer of the American Legion Post 423, and a member of the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 and the Italio-American Club all in Masontown.
Mr. Alexander was a caring and loving husband, father, grand father, and great grand father.
On Saturday, November 8, 1947, Pat married Dolores Battaglini, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Pat ‘Biff’ Alexander and his wife Linda of Masontown, Pa.; three grandchildren: Todd T. Alexander and his wife Andria of Montgomery, Alabama, Anna T. Alexander and Biff S. Alexander both of York, Pa.; two brothers: Alfred Alexander and his wife Rita of Virginia and John Alexander, Point Marion, Pa.; one sister, Diane Alexander Alcorn of Uniontown, Pa.; many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a grand son, Neil D. Alexander; three brothers, Joseph Alexander, Adolph Alexander and George Alexander; one sister, Angelina Amminiti; and his parents.
There will be no public viewing or a memorial service and arrangements are under the direction of the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, One Children’s Hospital Drive, Central Plant, Floor 3, 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
