The housing authority was one of 24 in Pennsylvania to receive a total of $2 million in funding.

Administered through HUD’s Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program, the grants allow public housing authorities to work with social service agencies, community colleges, businesses and other local partners to help low-income residents increase earned income and financial literacy, reduce or eliminate the need for welfare assistance and make progress toward economic independence and self-sufficiency.
