James A. ‘Jim’ McCoy, age 58 of Cleveland, Ohio and formerly of Smithfield, Pa. passed away and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 1st 2015 while being comforted by his wife Joy.

He was a great husband taken too soon. He was very gentle and loving.

Jim was born in Uniontown, Pa. on September 18th 1957.

He was predeceased by his father Kenneth ‘Ray’ McCoy, mother Eileen (Kelley) Pitts, and brother, Kenneth Ray McCoy, Jr.

Surviving are his wife Joy of Cleveland, Ohio; son Jeremy McCoy and April of Brownsville, Pa. with children Jarell, Mackenzi and step-children, Sean and Bethany; son Jason McCoy; children, Aliza, Cameron, Aviona, Jahayva, Kaden, and stepson Yavaree; siblings Sheila Marie and Chuck Shanaberger of Smithfield, Pa.; Scott Chipps and wife Kalia of Smithfield, Pa.; Dawn Dice and husband James of Smithfield, Pa.; Bill Chipps and wife Sandy of Uniontown, Pa.; Jeff Chipps of Smithfield, Pa.; Tina Sokol of Smithfield, Pa.; Sheila Rae Grimm and husband Terry of Smithfield, Pa.; Stepchild Tonya Duncan of Lorain, Ohio and her four children: Jacklyn (Nicole) Voitovich and Rob with children: Alex, Aniya, and Alivia; stepchildren: Allie, Robbie, Samantha Duncan, Joy Duncan and child Annabella, Heather Hallett and Nathan, Shawn Toole; Stepchild Monte Congleton and Magan of Strongsville, Ohio, and his two children Brandon and Rhiannon Congleton; Stepchild Shannon Hager and Wesley with children:Andrew Congleton, John (Bubby), Michael and Brandy Hager; Stepchild Tommy Congleton and his children: Marissa Congleton, Katelyn Congleton, and stepchild Angelica; and step – mother Linda McCoy of Smithfield;

Jim opened his home and heart to help raise Joy’s grandson Christopher Congleton 12 years ago. He is the only father Chris has ever known. He again opened his home and heart to help raise Christopher’s sister Marissa Congleton for 4 years and most recently his granddaughter Katelyn.

Jim enjoyed working for 27 years at Strategic Materials in Cleveland, Ohio

A Memorial Service will be held at the BROWNFIELD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Brownfield, Pa. on December 19th at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend James Dice officiating.
