Holiday fund climbs above $12,000
GOAL: $50,000
CURRENT TOTAL: $12,142.18
The Give-A-Christmas fund stands at $12,142.18 as Herald-Standard readers contributed another $315 to the campaign that benefits the Salvation Army.
“I’m a little worried about making our goal,” said Sparkle, the Christmas star, who is mascot for the campaign. “We have a long way to go.”
The latest donations came from Uniontown, Brownsville, Vanderbilt, Hopwood and Star Junction.
They included this note:
“Our wish is for all children to have a Merry Christmas. God bless you for helping to make it happen,” wrote Bill and Penny Dean of Vanderbilt, who gave in honor of their six wonderful grandchildren: Tyler, Zachary, Clay, Wyatt, Chloe and Deklan Dean.
“How sweet!” said Sparkle. “Such nice thoughts. And we really do want to make it happen. We want to reach our goal so we can help the Salvation Army who are working in the neighborhoods of our readers to help those in need. Won’t you help us?”
Today’s other donors include Joy Craig, Uniontown; Andrew and Donna Sholtis, Uniontown; Joe and Toni Shwallon, in honor of their great-grandchildren Joey, Gianna and Levi, Brownsville; Slyvania Pugliesi, Brownsville; John and Annette Mamula, Hopwood; Bobbi Jo Carr, in memory of parents Robert and Garnet Taylor, Star Junction.
