Sherman D. Speelman
Sherman D. Speelman, age 81, of Northfield Village, Ohio passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 in Bedford, Ohio
He was born on Thursday, August 30, 1934 in Mather, Morgan Township Greene County Pennsylvania a beloved son of Joseph Speelman and Virginia (McMannes) Speelman.
Sherman served his country in the United States Army.
He was an active member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
He enjoyed camping, wood crafting, gardening, volunteering as a coach.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was the beloved husband of Dolores (nee Sargent) Speelman; the loving father of Gregory (Patricia) Speelman, Thomas (Kristina) Speelman, D e n i s e (Dennis) Edwards, Brian (Lori) Speelman and Sherman (Michelle) Speelman Jr.; dear grandfather of Kristina, Aaron, Deanna, Mariah, Rusty, Ashley, Brandon, Ryleigh, David, Nathan, Christopher, Ava, Josh and Max; dear great grandfather of Isabella, Liam, Hudson and the late Noah; brother of Glendora (the late Ethan), Gwendolyn (the late Robert), Donna (Paul) and the late Ruth; and dear uncle of many.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at JOHNSON-ROMITO FUNERAL HOME, 99 West Aurora Road, (One Mile West of Route 8), Northfield Center, OH 44067 (330.468.1443) Prayers at the funeral home will be said on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Saint Barnabas Catholic Church 9451 Brandywine Road, Northfield, Ohio.
Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 480 West Highland Road, Northfield, OH 44067.
