Florence (Rubin) Stern

Florence (Rubin) Stern age 92, of Wheeling, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the Ohio Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 25, 1923 a daughter of Louis Rubin and Frieda (Frank) Rubin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Stern in 1966; her brother, Hyman Rubin; and her sister, Rose Hammond.
Florence graduated from Uniontown High School and attended business school for two years.
She was a member of the Tree of Life Synagogue of Uniontown and also Hadassah.
She worked for Gallatin National Bank as a Loan Officer in the banking industry for thirty years.
She volunteered with Autistic children.
Florence was a family person who was warm, caring and nurturing to all including her husband, daughter and sister and shared her heartfelt love.
She fought through her husband’s cancer, and she herself survived a stroke, maintaining her independence and determination up to the time of her death.
She was an amazing woman.
Left to cherish Florence’s memory are her daughter, Dr. Arlene Stern Feder and husband Dr. Richard Feder of Wheeling, West Virginia; and two grandchildren: Mark and Gail.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania where a Service Celebrating Florence’s Life will be held today, Friday, December 18, at 11:00 a.m. with Rabbi Sion David officiating.
Interment will follow in Holy Society Cemetery Hopwood, Pennsylvania.
