Wallace Weldor Bakewell Jr., age 68 of Shelby, Ohio died on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at his home following an extended illness.

Born December 18, 1946 in Brownsville, Pa. to Wallace Weldor and Elizabeth (Flint) Bakewell, Sr., he was a resident of Ashland for several years moving to Shelby in 1980. He was a 1964 graduate of Brashear High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Wallace retired in 2008 as an electrician with General Motors in Ontario, Ohio after 27 years of service; and prior to that, he was employed with Faultless Rubber Co. in Ashland.

Wallace enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing and was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by two sons, Wallace W. (Barbara) Bakewell III of Brownsville, Pa. and Wayne A. (Renee) Bakewell of West Mifflin, Pa.; one daughter, Holly (Jeff) Farr of Savannah, Ohio; six grandchildren: Nicole Marie Bakewell, Wade A. Bakewell, Walker A. Bakewell, Jake Farr, Brandon Farr and Kyver Farr; three brothers: Robert (Donna) Bakewell, Thomas (Judy) Bakewell and James (Jeanne) Bakewell; his twin sister, Caroline Cohan; several nieces and nephews and his previous wife, JoAnn Bakewell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Elizabeth Null, Judith Moon and Patty Bakewell Kudyba and an infant brother and sister.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St. Brownsville, Pa. on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Timothy Kruthaupt officiating.
