Police: Man tells Sheetz employees he is an officer and is being watched

By The 1 min read

Police say a 29-year-old Dunbar man told employees at the North Union Township Sheetz he was an undercover officer and that he was being watched Wednesday.

Charges are pending against the man, who Sheetz employees said was a white man about 6-feet 2-inches tall with long, dark hair.

Employees said he came into the store and asked for a pen and paper. He wrote down his name and phone number and asked them to give it to the next police officer who entered the store. He left, and employees called police.

He then allegedly went to the state police barracks in Uniontown around 1 a.m., saying he wanted to provide drug information to troopers. He spoke with a trooper and fled to his vehicle in the parking lot. He was arrested, and police said they found used syringes, cocaine, a “large amount” of prescription pills and other paraphernalia.

Police said he is not a member of law enforcement and never has been.
