Preliminary hearings 12-23-15
Several preliminary hearings were held Monday in Fayette County. The results include:
Franklin Donald Hiles, 32, listed as homeless, waived robbery and other charges to the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas on Tuesday. He allegedly tried to steal the purse of an elderly woman with a cane who was going to physical therapy in Uniontown in November. Charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit theft were changed to attempted robbery and attempted theft at his hearing. In addition, he is facing charges of robbery, theft and disorderly conduct. He is in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Deshaunte Rikie Douglas, 28, of Uniontown, waived her charges to the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas on Tuesday for allegedly kicking Uniontown City Police Department Officer Jamie Holland while he was transporting her to a cell in October. Holland was injured and required medical leave. Douglas is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct. Her $25,000 bail was changed from monetary to unsecured by Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros on Tuesday.
