High winds overnight caused two pine trees at this Menallen Township home, located along Route 40, to topple over, bringing down with it electrical wires that supplied electricity to two outbuildings. High winds overnight resulted in power outages for more than 6,700 Fayette County residents, some of whom remain without power this morning.

According to Fayette County Emergency Management officials, 105 calls were received between midnight and 7 a.m for downed trees and power lines. Georges Township and Faircahnce Borough were reportedly the hardes hit areas, with more than 2,100 without power in those areas alone.
