By The 1 min read

A Greene County inmate who escaped the Greene County Prison Sunday night was apprehended Tuesday and is in police custody.

Police said Waylan Hodge Hanlan Jr., 27, of Mount Morris may have been assisted in his escape by family.

He allegedly scaled a fence at about 8 p.m. Sunday night and fled into a wooded area.

Hanlan was lodged in the jail on charges of a parole violation, fleeing and eluding, and simple assault, police said.

He is facing new charges of escape and conspiracy to escape.
