James Clinton Franks
James Clinton Franks, age 84 years, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home.
He was born Monday, December 8, 1930 a son of the now late Clinton ‘Jack’ Franks and Nellie (Goodwin) Franks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles J. Franks; and an infant daughter.
He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, the Paul Tarcy Sunday School Class, belonging to the Fayette and the Pennsylvania State Sunday School associations.
He was employed by Nehi Bottling Company in Uniontown, Pa., as a Custodian for the West Virginia University, and as a Van Driver for Bill Parnam Bus Lines.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the United States Army from 1952 to 1954.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Donna Blaney Franks; three daughters: Joy Franks of Smithfield, Pa., Sharee Smith of Morgantown, West Virginia and Jackie Dixon and husband the Rev. Steven Dixon of Brunswick, Georgia; three granchildren: Emily Smith, John Dixon and Andy Dixon; and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME, SMITHFIELD, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, February 23, until 11 a.m., when Services will be conducted with Rev. Darrell Edgar and Rev Streven Dixon officiating
Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
