Lois (Hanks) Thompson
Lois (Hank) Thompson, age 90, of Ohiopyle, Pa., passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 with her family by her side.
She was born Thursday February 5, 1925 in Bedford County, Pa., the daughter of William Hanks and Judy Irene (Mills) Hanks.
Lois was an Honorary Member of the Great Meadows Garden Club since 1958.
She was a member and Treasurer of Chalk Hill United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School.
She will be remembered for her love of playing poker and bridge with friends.
Her home was always open to children who now have fond memories of spending special time with her enjoying the best fresh-baked bread and pies!
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, Harvey; a son, William ‘Bill’; a daughter, Linda Orndorff; granddaughter, Denise Orndorff; three sons-in-law; her sister, Ruth (Lenhart) Fell; and brothers, Ray, Warren and Charles.
She is survived by her brother, Paul and wife Dee; a daughter-in-law, Okcha Thompson; a son, Edward and wife Fran; daughters: Elaine Hilling and husband John, Judy McGourty, Jane Harris and friend Walter VanSickle; 12 grandchildren: MiLee Thompson, William Thompson, Jac (Thompson) Beigel, Marcy (Thompson) Nesaw, Renee (Hilling) M c L a u g h l i n, Randy Hilling, Amy (McGourty) LaSala, Melanie McGourty, Kris Orndorff, Beth (Orndorff) Theroff, Matthew Harris, and Mindy Harris; and 21 great grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at the CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, Pa., on Friday, February 27th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service with her nephew, Pastor William Hanks, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Chalk Hill, Pa.

The Great Meadows Garden Club will hold a Service in Funeral Home on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
