Thomas R. “Tom” Simmons Sr.
Thomas R. Simmons Sr age 70, Confluence, Pa., passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born on Wednesday, June 20, 1945 at New Eagle, Pa., a son of Roy Simmons and Doris (Clemens) Simmons.
‘Tom’ was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Confluence, Pa.
He was the owner and operator of the Lone Star Restaurant in Markleysburg, Pa., for 18 years.
He was a member of the Markleysburg-Henry Clay Volunteer Fire Department where he called bingo for many years.
Tom loved going to the Roaring Knob Races where he worked in the Press Box.
He loved boating on the Youghiogheny River and spending time with his loving grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Linda Vogel and Edna Smith; and step father, Harry McDonald.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah (Todd) Simmons; two children: Tammy Henning and her husband Nathan of Farmington, Pa., and Tommy Simmons of Markleysburg, Pa.; three grandchildren: Colby Simmons, Brady Simmons, T.J. Henning; a step sister, Donna Wilkinson and family of Venetia, Pa.; and a step brother, John McDonald and his wife Betty and their family of Columbia, Maryland.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, Pa., on Monday, July 6, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 7, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. the hour of the Service.
Interment will follow in the Sansom Chapel Cemetery, Farmington.
