Stanley W. Boskovich
Stanley W. Boskovich, age 91, Masontown, Pa., died peacefully at home on Friday, July 10, 2015.
He was born on Sunday May 18, 1924 in Brier Hill, Pa., son of John Boskovich and Sophia (Tenza) Boskovich.
Stanley proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Army 50th Armored Infantry Battalion. He was awarded five Bronze Service Stars and a Purple Heart in the European-African Theatre of Operations Campaign in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe
Stanley retired from United States Steel Corporation Robena Mine as a General Maintenance Foreman.
He was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish (formerly All Saints Roman Catholic Church) in Masontown where he served as an Usher and as a volunteer during parish festivals.
He was a member of the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584, the Fort Mason American Legion Post 423, and The Knights of Columbus.
Stanley devoted his life to his family, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Isabella Jane (Hribal) Boskovich on Monday, April 26, 2010; brothers, Ed Boskovich, John Boskovich, Frank Boskovich, and Albert Boskovich; and a sister, Louise Callaghan.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Frank Boskovich and wife Tanis of Canonsburg, Pa., Linda Boskovich Patrick of Masontown, Pa., Carol Rennebohm of Charlotte, North Carolina, Stanley Boskovich Jr. and wife Kathie of Galloway, Ohio, Bill Boskovich of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Joe Boskovich of Somers Point, New Jersey; 16 grandchildren: Elizabeth Barrett and husband Shawn, Bryan Boskovich and wife Autumn, Frank Patrick, Kenny Patrick and wife Megan, Andy Patrick and wife Sarah, Annie Veit and husband Sean, Heather Fisher and husband Drew, Erin Rennebohm, Jeffrey Boskovich, Stacy Birdsall and husband Zach, Richard Allen and wife Katie, Ben Boskovich, Marcus Boskovich, Hayden Boskovich, Rachel Jane Boskovich, and Megan Acetta; nine great-grandchildren: Jack (who preceded him in death), Ethan, Bryson, Brevan, Liam, Hayden, Crosby, Ayo, Orion, and Isabell; a sister, Frances Ulicne of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; many nephews and nieces and their families.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., Monday, July 13, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m and Tuesday, July 14, until 9:30 a.m. when the Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 101 South Washington Street, Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow at the Lafayette Memorial Park Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Brier Hill, Pa., where Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584.
