James W. Hostetler, age 79, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and was formerly of Fairchance, Pennsylvania.

After 30 years confined to a wheelchair, James W. Hostetler went to walk with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2015 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

James was born on Tuesday, February 11, 1936 in Collier, Fayette County, Pennsylvania to A. L. “Roy” Hostetler and Mildred (Waser) Hostetler, both now deceased. James was number 18 of 23 children born to the Hostetlers.

James was a member of Lodge of Perfection No. 228 F. & A.M. in Uniontown, Pennsylvania

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 59 years who cared for him with unconditional love, Gloria (Morganosky) Hostetler; children: Kathy and her husband Jeff Eicher of Georgetown, South Carolina, James E. and companion Mundica Childres of Manassas, Virginia, Mark and his wife Lisa of Egg Harbor, New Jersey, David of El Cajon, California and Matthew and his wife Kia of Elizabethtown, Pa.; grandchildren: Jillian Metherd and husband Elijah of Georgetown, South Carolina, Jeffrey Eicher Jr. and wife Emily of Escondido, California, James W. Hostetler II and wife Tiffany of Manassas, Virginia, Staci Hostetler of Manassas, Virginia, Sarah Hostetler, Stephanie Warren and Jennifer Hostetler all of Egg Harbor, New Jersey, Christopher Hostetler of El Cajon, California, Michael Hostetler of El Cajon, California, and Robert Hostetler of El Cajon, California; and step-grandson, Eric Gentry and his daughter Sophie Grace of Elizabethtown, Pa.

James is also survived by sisters: Elizabeth Handschumaker of Irwin Pa., Peggy Argenti of Lorain, Ohio, Marlene Haupt of High Springs, Florida; brothers: Art Hostetler of Smithfield, Pa., Glenn Hostetler of New York state, Bruce Hostetler of Barberton, Ohio, Frank Hostetler of Channelview, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Fifteen other brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436 on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, July 23, 2015 until 11:00 a.m. the hour of Service with Reverend Charles Swenson officiating.

Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, on Collier Road, Georges Township, Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
