State police are investigating an armed robbery Friday of a business in South Union Township.

Police said a man brandishing a pistol demanded money and cigarettes around 1:45 a.m. from the store clerk at the Sweet Peas Service Station located at 732 Morgantown Road.

The clerk provided money from the store’s cash register and a carton of cigarettes, which the suspect placed in black bag with brown handles, police said.

Police said described the suspect, who fled from the store on foot, as a white or light skinned man, wearing blue jeans, a dark long sleeved shirt with a Nike “swoosh” on the front, black and white Nike tennis shoes, a dark bandanna over his face and a black beanie cap on his head. Police issued photos of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to contact Trooper James Pierce, state police, at 724-415-1012.
