By The 1 min read

A detective for the Allegheny County district attorney’s office suffered a fatal medical emergency in Fayette County on Tuesday.

The detective was part of a team of federal, state and local law enforcement officers who were executing search warrants in an ongoing drug investigation.

Fayette County District Attorney Jack R. Heneks Jr. said he hadn’t received official confirmation of the officer’s death, but referred to a statement issued by David J. Hickton, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Hickton said FBI agents, state police and detectives from the Fayette County Drug Task Force were executing federal search warrants at 11 locations in the county when the medical the medical emergency occurred.

“Unfortunately, in the midst of that one of the officers passed away. This illustrates the collaborative efforts of the FBI, state police and the Fayette County Drug task Force to curtail drug trafficking in Fayette County,” Heneks said.
