Ruth E. (O’Neal) Matthews Genelli, age 99 Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Lafayette Manor. She was born on May 17, 1916 in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of the now late William E. O’Neal and Elizabeth (Knight) O’Neal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Thomas Matthews and Anfonzo Genelli; a grandson, John Michael Guseman; a son, Barry E. Matthews and his wife Marilyn; a brother, Clarence Brodigan, and a sister, Clara Brodigan Brilhart; and son-in-laws, Grady Anderson and Richard Brashear.

Ruth was a member of Calvary Methodist Church, Uniontown.

Left to cherish Ruth’s memory are three daughters Judy Guseman and husband John of Uniontown, Louise Brashear of Kannopolis, North Carolina and Peggy Matthews of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Klausmeyer of Woodbine Maryland, Brandon Matthews and wife Audrey of Richmond, Virginia, Brett Matthews and wife Donna of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Alan Brashear and wife Maggie of Charlotte, North Carolina, Michael Brashear and wife Heather of Hickory, North Carolina, Erica Anderson of Houston, Texas, and Lauren Neal and husband Derek of Houston, Texas; eleven great grandchildren, Eleanor Ruth Klausmeyer, Rosemary Fay Klausmeyer, Madison Guseman, John Guseman Jr., Brooke Brashear, Harrison Brashear, Madison Brashear, Dalton Matthews, Hunter Matthews, Anderson Neal, Aubrey Neal and Wyatt Matthews; a sister, Myrtle Henderson of Cleveland, Ohio; two step children, Regina Klink of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and James Genelli of Sacramento, California.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania

The family received friends on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 2 until 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Visitation will continue in the funeral home today, Monday, November 2, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Ruth’s life at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Andrew P. Spore officiating.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.

The family suggests donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church, 34 Clark Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
