David Alan DiPietro, 59 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 suddenly at his home.

He was born April 3, 1956 in Altoona, Pa., the son of Helen {Ryan} DiPietro of Altoona and the late Peter DiPietro.

In addition to his father he was predeceased by a sister Susie {DiPietro} Steinbugl and two nephews, Justin Muhbauer and Andrew DiPietro.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his loving wife Shauna {Frankhouser} DiPietro, two stepchildren, Gina Lea Connors and Travis Frankhouser, both of Uniontown; many loving nieces, nephews to whom he was very close; and the family pet “Dozer”

David graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School in Altoona, Pa. He pursued his love of art and earned a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Pennsylvania State University.

He went on to teach painting and drawing at the Fayette Campus of Penn State University for over 30 years, where he loved sharing his passion with the students.

David was a prominent local artist and had many beautiful works displayed throughout businesses in Uniontown.

He was also very well-traveled and spent many years traveling abroad to study art and experience other cultures. He loved to tell stories about his travels and experiences, which everyone around him loved to hear.

David was truly loved by many. He will be sadly missed by his many wonderful friends and coworkers.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME HOPWOOD Thursday, November 5 from 2 to 8 p.m.

Interment services will be held on Friday in Altoona, Pa., at 11:00 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery
