Perryopolis woman charged after Attorney General investigation

By The 1 min read

A 32-year-old Perryopolis woman was one of 15 people charged after an insurance fraud investigation through the Office of the Attorney General.

Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane announced Thursday that Jacqueline R. Cunningham was charged with insurance fraud and theft by deception.

Cunningham’s vehicle was allegedly involved in an accident when she did not have insurance, according to the Attorney General’s office.

The vehicle was damaged in February. She allegedly purchased insurance later, and filed a $15,000 claim through Progressive six days after the purchase.

Towing records indicate the crash happened before she purchased the policy, according to the Attorney General.

She was arrested Nov. 5 and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard Kasunic II, according to court documents. She is free on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 17.
