Firefighters battled a kitchen fire that grew out of control on Friday afternoon on Charles Lane in the Holiday Mobile Home Park in Oliver. Homeowner Bruce Mitchell made it out safely with his dog.

Firefighters from multiple departments quickly extinguished a blaze at a mobile home in North Union Township Friday.

The fire was reported at 1:14 p.m. today at 1103 Charles Lane in the Holiday Mobile Home Park.

The occupant, Bruce Mitchell, made it out of the home with his dog.

Aaron Coleman, assistant chief for West Leisenring Volunteer Fire Department, said that the fire started in the kitchen. Coleman said the entire home sustained smoke and heat damage.

No injuries were reported, and the state police fire marshal will investigate the cause of the fire.
