Walter A. Bianchi
Walter A. ‘Woody’ Bianchi, 86, formerly of Newell, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at Bayside Hospital, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born March 4, 1929 in Newell, he was the son of the late Alfonse and Assunta (Tomasso) Bianchi.
Mr. Bianchi was a member of the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Newell.
He was a retired truck driver from General Chemical, Newell.
He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army, member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, the AMVETS of Uniontown, Korean War Veterans of St. Petersburg, Florida, the Sons of Italy in Perryopolis and the St. Petersburg Tarantella Dance Group. He was also the founder of the Newell Federal Credit Union and was an avid accordion player specializing in Italian music.
He is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law: Janice and Al Altomari of Monessen, Regina Cunningham and Companion Joe of Newell, Maria and Jim Premoshis of Fayette City, Bernadette and Barry Deutsch of Greensburg, Rosalie and Chad DuBreucq of Monessen; eight grandchildren: Jason Cunningham, Dustin Premoshis, Casey Premoshis, Bianca Bodde, Breanna Deutsch, Bodie DuBreucq, Braedon DuBreucq, and Brent DuBreucq; great granddaughter Alivia Premoshis, and two sisters, Eleanor Bianchi of Fayette City and Dolores Unnone of North Huntington.
He is preceded in death by two sisters Amelia LoBue and Genevieve Stringhill.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME &Amp; CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME &Amp; CREMATIONS at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston of Epiphany Of Our Lord Church officiating.
Entombment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 will conduct services on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
