Donald W. Flowers
Donald W. Flowers, 93 of Chalk Hill, Pa. and formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa. passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015.
He was born November 9, 1922 in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of the late Clarence and Pauline Flowers.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy M. Flowers and sisters, Mary and June (Pat) and brother Jack.
Surviving are two sons, James Flowers of Chalk Hill, Pa. and Steven (Jayne) Flowers of Hunker, Pa.; three grandchildren: Amy (Brian) Dillon, Brian and Bethany; four great grandchildren: Caleb, Chloe, Liam and Lila and twin sister Dorothy Helfrich.
Don was a salesman all of his life, first working for the Reick Dairy Co. which later became Sealtest Ice Cream, The Sweeheart Cup Company and finally, the Rochester Midland Corporation.
He was a collector of all things ice cream, including ice cream scoops, milkshake machines and old milk bottles.
He was a special man who will be greatly missed.
Don attended Pennsville Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa. on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., the hour of the Service with Pastor Brian Geesaman officiating.
