Ronald C. “Ron” Honsaker

Local Dairy Farmer Ronald C. Honsaker, age 76, of Masontown, Pa passed away Thursday November 19, 2015 at his home with his loved ones at his side.

Ronald was born on Monday, June 05, 1939 in Masontown, Pa., a son of Glenn C. Honsaker and Edith (DeBolt) Honsaker

Ronald was co-owner and operator of the City View Dairy Farms in Masontown, Pa., with his brothers, Robert and Darwin.

Ronald was proud of his 50 years in the Dairy Farm business and was always ready to share his farming experiences with others.

Ronald was a faithful member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Church Board Chairman.

Ronald’s dedication to the Church was evident in his willingness to serve where ever needed.

Ronald was also a member of the Smithfield Baptist Bowling League for many years.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; and by his twin brother, Robert L. Honsaker.

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor (Livengood) Honsaker; a brother, Darwin Honsaker and wife Sharon, Masontown Pa.; sisters: Connie Lou Honsaker of Masontown, Pa., and Darlene Pryor and husband David of Hagerstown, Maryland; a nephew, Ryan Honsaker and two nieces: Chrystal Honsaker of Honolulu, Hawaii and Tabitha Corradi and husband Robert of Annapolis, Maryland; in addition to numerous other nieces and nephews.

Ron will also be missed by his faithful pet ‘Heidi’.

The family thanks Amedisys Hospice in Masontown — especially Scott and Beth Ann — for all of their care.

Thank you also to good friend, Ronald Diamond who faithfully called Ron everyday.

Friends will be received in BERNARD M. TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME, 220 South Main Street, Masontown, Pa., on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m

Visitation will continue on Monday, November 23 2015 in the FAIRVIEW CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN, Masontown Pa., from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Reverend Homer Marshall officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

In lieu of other tokens of sympathy, the family requests that donations be made to the Fairview Church of the Brethren Improvement Fund, One Elm Street, Masontown, PA 15461.
