Henry M. “Hank” Gerome
Henry M. ‘Hank’ Gerome, 91 years, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Monday, July 7, 1924 in Braddock, Pennsylvania a son of Theodore Geremsky and Sophia (Jankowski) Geremsky.
In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his wife, M. Marjorie (Geer) Gerome in 1997.
Henry graduated from Braddock High School in 1942 followed by his enlistment into the United States Navy. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations during World War II on the USS Kennebec.
He then graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1948 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Hank was the owner and founder of Gerome Manufacturing, Inc.
He was a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed traveling the world and playing cards with his friends.
He was an avid reader.
Left to cherish Henry’s memory are his son, Henry M. Gerome of Uniontown, Pa.; his two daughters: Patricia Putila and her husband Joseph of Carmichaels, Pa., and Carol McDowell and her husband Robert of Uniontown, Pa.; six grandchildren: Joe Putila of Madison, Wisconsin, Derek Putila of Morgantown, West Virginia, Peter Putila of Houston, Texas, Michael Putila of Masontown, Pa., Christy Marinchak and husband Marc of Anchorage, Alaska, Brian McDowell and wife Phuong Lee of Lawrenceville, Pa.; a brother, Ted Gerome of Ligonier, Pa.; a sister, Dorothy Czarnecki of Philadelphia, Pa.; his traveling companion, Nicole LeGault; and many friends.
The family would like to recognize his two care takers, Andrea and Amanda, for the wonderful care they had given Hank.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
The family will receive friends in the TRINITY UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 79 West Fayette Street, on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon. A Service Celebrating Henry’s Life will be held at 12 Noon with the Reverend Dr. Colleen Molinaro officiating.
Interment will be private.
