Charlotte A. “Shirley” (Kantorik) Frankhouser, R.N.
Charlotte A. ‘Shirley’ (Kantorik) Frankhouser, R.N., age 80, Uniontown, Pa., passed away, on Monday, November 23, 2015 at AHN Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born on Monday, May 13, 1935 in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Clara (Furlo) Kantorik and Andrew Kantorik.
Charlotte was a member of the Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Pa.
During her life, Charlotte worked as a Registered Nurse.
She graduated from the Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her Nursing Diploma.
She began her nursing career in Brownsville, Pa., before moving to the Uniontown Hospital, where she started the I.V. Team and worked as a Substitute Clinical Supervisor.
Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grand mother, and great grand mother.
She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening, and loved art and painting.
She was a member of the Uniontown Art Club where she took painting lessons from Patrick Daugherty.
She was also a member of the former Mount Laurel Gardening Club.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Gerald R. Frankhouser; their son, Dr. Brian Matthew Frankhouser, D.D.S.; brothers, Edward Kantorik of Cleveland, Ohio, Richard Kantorik of Smock, Pa.; and sister, Mary Lou Kantorik of New Salem, Pa.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Carla Frankhouser Hager and her husband Keith of Smock, Pa., Raymond E. Frankhouser, Uniontown, Pa., and Laura Kristin Frankhouser of Manhattan, New York; grandchildren: Shannon Hager-Riggar and her husband Bob of Connellsville, Pa., Melissa Hager-Hamaker and her husband Gregory of Uniontown, Pa., and Kevin Hager of Smock, Pa.; great grandchildren: Emily Hamaker, Ashlynn Martin-Riggar, Mariah Hamaker, Luke Hamaker sisters-in-law: Claire Kantorik of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rita Kantorik of Smock, Pa.; her best friend, Yalonda ‘Lou’ Saghy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Friends will be received at STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., on Friday, November 27, from 1 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, November 28, 2015 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as the Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held at funeral home Friday at 4:30 p.m.
