Dr. Robert William Dillon Sr.
Dr. Robert William Dillon Sr., age 73, of California, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
He was born on Sunday, May 31, 1942 in Manhattan, New York the son of William John Dillon and Catherine Marie (Connell) Dillon.
He was a member of Phi Kappa Theta (Honorary Member), the Carlyle Society of Edinburgh, Scotland, American Biographical Institute, and the International Biographical Institute.
In his youth, Dr. Dillon was an Eagle Scout with 3 Palms, 53 Merit Badges, and was a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow.
He graduated from St. Peter’s High School for boys on Staten Island, New York, then earned his undergraduate degree in A.B. Greek from Fairfield University (Fairfield, Connecticut).
He received his Masters in English in 1965 and his Ph.D. in English Language and Literature in 1969 from Ohio University (Athens, Ohio).
He was the youngest appointed Full Professor at California University of Pennsylvania’s history at the age of 29.
He retired after 40 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Katherine Therese (K.T.) Connell.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons: Christopher Mark Dillon of Washington state, Christian Randall Dillon and his wife Crystal of Brownsville, Pennsylvania and Robert William Dillon Jr. of Adah, Pennsylvania.
Also surviving are five grandchildren: Colton Hunter Dillon, Garrett Randall Dillon, Haley Elizabeth Dillon, Abigail Alexandra Dillon, and Robert William Dillon III
